Bullying: What it is and what you can do about it.
According to Stopbullying.gov (www.stopbullying.gov), bullying is defined as unwanted behavior agressive in nature, that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. This behavior is often repeated and over time can cause a lasting impact on a person's life.
Bullying can take many forms such as threats, the spreading of rumors, physically or verbally attacking someone, the making of unwanted gestures, and teasing. Although the day-to-day classroom and in person bullying still occurs, technology has also created a new form of bullying: Cyber-Bullying. Click here to learn more about Cyber-Bullying.
At Lockney ISD, we take reports of bullying seriously. We strive to provide a safe environment for all students which is condusive to learning. To learn more about our policy on Bullying, please click on the link below labeled STUDENT WELFARE: Freedom from Bullying.
