Students with skeleton print at Print Fest

The LHS Art students were able to participate in the annual PrintFest hosted by the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts (LHUCA). This event included a full day of artistic activities where students were able to to experience printmaking with their 2 ft x 4 ft boards at the CASP Studio. Students also worked on clay in the LHUCA clay studio, then participated in a guided tour of both the LHUCA and CASP galleries. Additionally, there were colleges and professional artists set up for the students to gain information from and ask question about art professions.

This is the first time for Lockney High School to have the opportunity to participate in the event and only a select number were allowed to participate. Students had to earn their spot to go by working on and creating the printing plates in Mrs. Webb’s class over the past several weeks. Student work completed at the PrintFest is currently on display in the LHUCA gallery in Lubbock. GREAT JOB STUDENTS!
